Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma

Licorice is the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., Glycyrrhiza inflata Bat., or Glycyrrhiza glabra L. from Fabaceae family. Collected in spring and autumn, the fibrous roots are removed and the roots are dried in the sun.

Properties: Sweet, Neutral

Meridians: Heart, Lung, Spleen, Stomach Meridians

Functions: Tonify the spleen and augment qi, clear heat and detoxify, transform phlegm and relieve cough, alleviate spasms and relieve pain, harmonize other medicinals
